Updated on Monday, February 2, 2026
  • On January 3, 2026 – The spirit of discipline and service was on full display at the Government High School, Rajendranagar, during a highly successful organ donation awareness session. Upon arrival, the school was in the midst of a karate and self-defense program, yet the Principal recognized the importance of the cause, granted immediate permission and provided full support for the session.

Project Manager Mr. Venkatesh Kattela led the initiative, delivering an engaging awareness talk to a large audience of over 300 students and faculty members from Classes 7 to 9.

    The discussion covered:

    • The definition and various types of organ donation.
    • The essential distinction between brain death and cardiac arrest.
    • The significance of carrying a donor card.
    • Living Organ Donation: Providing specific insights into how healthy individuals can donate certain organs.
    • The Jeevandan Program: Explaining the official state-run scheme for organ transplantation in Telangana.

A poignant moment occurred when a faculty member shared the story of a relative who had been struggling with kidney failure for 25 years. Mr. Venkatesh Kattela was able to provide crucial information on the legalities of living donation and the registration process through the Jeevandan program, offering practical hope to those in need.

The Principal’s enthusiastic appreciation for the MOHAN Foundation’s activities served as a great motivation for both the team and the students. The impact was clear, as several participants—both students and staff—came forward to pledge their organs by the end of the talk. The program concluded on a positive note, with 10 participants formally pledging to donate their organs.
