Siddhachal Phase VI committee members, Mrs.Ritu Gupte and Mrs.Tanuja Shah invited Mrs.Jaya Jairam to conduct an Organ Donation awareness drive on August 15th 2016.
The talks started after Flag hoisting ceremony, in their community hall. A short presentation was made to the audience with Mrs.Jairam explaining the facts, beliefs and misconceptions that often surround this procedure.
Some of the members wanted to know if the process was complicated and their questions were addressed. Mrs.Jaya spoke about her own kidney transplant and how it motivated her to join the cause and a short video presentation on how one donor saved many lives was also shown.
The committee members were appreciative of the drive and said that many of them were not aware of details of Organ Donation prior to this.
37 members of the society signed up and pledged their organs. Some of the youngsters enrolled as volunteers and wished to take this cause up with their colleges.
