


MFJCF was invited by Rani Laxmibai Hostel, the girls hostel of the Rajasthan University, to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation and transplantation. A total of 40 PhD students attended the talk. Mrs. Renu Singh and Dr. Hansika Parwani of MFJCF were the speakers during the occasion.
She talked about the following points:
1. What is organ donation and what are the types of donations?
2. Who can be a donor?
3. The status of organ donation in India
4. Difference between natural death and brain death
5. Myths around organ donation
6. Real life stories of an organ donors of Rajasthan
7. Importance of donor card
8. Opt-in and opt-out systems
Participants were greatly motivated after the talk and also raised questions, including the following:
The participants were satisfied with the answers of Mrs. Renu Singh and Dr. Hansika Parwani. The National Organ Donation Helpline number, 1800-103-7100 was shared with the participants. All 40 students who attended the talk pledged as organ donors. MFJCF is thankful to the Rajasthan University and Rani Laxmibai Hostel for the opportunity.
