  • On February 20, 2026, MOHAN Foundation, in association with Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences(JNIMS), Porompat, conducted an organ donation awareness talk at the Medicine Outpatient Department (OPD), JNIMS. Ms. Moirangthem Priya Devi, Program Executive, and Mr. Elangbam Paringanba Singh represented MOHAN Foundation.

The session began with Ms. Priya introducing the team to the participants. She then provided a comprehensive overview of organ donation and transplantation, clearly explaining the difference between living and deceased donation. She also highlighted the availability of transplantation services in both government and private healthcare institutions across Manipur.

Addressing common misconceptions, she emphasized that no religion opposes organ donation and explained that, instead of limiting final rites to cremation or burial alone, organ donation can offer a renewed chance of life to those in need. She further clarified that the buying and selling of human organs is strictly prohibited and punishable under the law.

Towards the conclusion of the session, Ms. Priya explained the procedure for pledging as an organ donor. Informational pamphlets on organ donation were distributed to the participants. Approximately 30 individuals attended the session and gained valuable insights into the importance of organ donation.
