On December 24, 2025, MOHAN Foundation, Imphal, in association with Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), conducted an organ donation awareness talk at the General OPD. The Foundation was represented by Program Executives Mr. Victor Rajkumar and Ms. Moirangthem Priya Devi.
Mr. Victor Rajkumar opened the session by explaining the concept and significance of organ donation. He discussed the two types of donation—living donation and deceased donation—emphasizing the life-saving potential of deceased organ donation for patients awaiting transplants. He also highlighted key provisions under the Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 1994, noting that the buying and selling of organs is illegal and a punishable offense.
He further shared an update on the status of organ transplantation in Manipur, informing participants that kidney and cornea transplantations have already been successfully carried out in the state.
During the concluding segment, Mr. Victor explained the process of pledging to become an organ donor. Information pamphlets were distributed to participants for further reading and reference.
