On 21st August 2019, MOHAN Foundation was invited to the Kalwa branch of Bharat Bank for putting up an information stall on organ donation. The day marked the occasion of the 41st Foundation Day of the bank, and the programme was inaugurated by the Bank Manager with cake cutting.
The information desk was manned by Dr Jimmy Gupta at the waiting area of the bank. All the arrangements and crowd management was supported by Mr Tushar and other bank employees.
Dr Jimmy introduced MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision and activities. She introduced the concept of organ and tissue donation, explained the types of death - cardiac and brain death and the organs and tissues that can be donated and also explained to the crowd how donation of skin and eyes can happen even at the residence after someone’s demise. She elaborated on the procedure of bone donation as well.
About 40 visitors including bank employees were reached out to and around 12 of the pledged their organs and received donor cards. MOHAN Foundation is thankful to Mrs. Archana Suvarna, Manager of Bharat Bank, Kalwa Branch for supporting the cause of organ donation.
