  On 31^th July 2023, Mr.Bulu Behera Transplant Coordinator from MOHAN Foundation Nagpur Team was invited By Ms.Swati Gupta ,Manager of Bharat Petrol Pump ,Trimruti Nagar to give a talk on organ donation

  The following were discussed in detail

  • What is organ donation?
  • Who can donate an organ?
  • What is brain death and natural death?
  • After brain death, which organs and tissues can be donated?
  • After natural death, which tissues can be donated, and what are the time factors?
  • What is the difference between coma and brain death?
  • Is organ donation possible if the patient is in a coma?
  • Living organ donation and the criteria for living donor?
  • Information regarding body donation and eye donation
  • What are the legal and ethical implications of organ donation?
  • What does the Transplantation of Human Organs Act of 1994 say about organ donation?
  • What is the role of NOTTO, ROTO, SOTTO, ZTCC, and the MOHAN Foundation in organ donation?

   

  The session was interactive and participants asked the following questions:

  • What are the government schemes for organ transplant?
  • What is eye donation process?
  • What is body donation process?

   

  Around 15 participants attended the talk and 2 pledged for organ donation. Mr Bulu Behra urged the participants to check out the MOHAN Foundation website and promoted the Toll-Free Helpline Number.
