Organ Donation Awareness Session by MF Ambassador Mr. Dewang Chhaya at RTM University Nagpur

  • On September, 23rd, 2025, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur, was invited by Department of Humanities, Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj University Nagpur to conduct an awareness session on organ donation. The session was facilitated by Dr. Shyamrao Koreti (Dean, Humanities), Mr. Dewang Chhaya (Ambassador, MOHAN Foundation), Mrs. Veena Wathore (Program Manager, MOHAN Foundation), and Dr. Ashok Borkar (Head & Professor, Department of Sociology).

    The program commenced with introductory remarks by Dr. Ashok Borkar, followed by an address from Dr. Shyamrao Koreti, who also briefly spoke about organ donation. Mr. Dewang Chhaya then emphasized the significance of organ donation, elaborating on the concept of brain death, myths and facts, the current scenario, and real-life stories. He also addressed participants’ queries, clarifying the difference between organ donation and body donation. Subsequently, Mrs. Veena Wathore took the lead and conducted a session on how to take a pledge and highlighted learning opportunities with MOHAN Foundation. Ms. Neha Sailwar from MOHAN Foundation also joined the session & distributed MF broachers to the students.

    The event witnessed the active participation of around 100 students and 10 faculty members. The interactive format allowed participants to gain clarity on key aspects of organ donation and inspired them to consider pledging.
