  • On September 28, 2025, the MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation at the Laburnum Condominium Complex, Gurugram, Haryana. The session was organized by Mr. Vijay Pahwa, a senior resident of the complex.

Ms. Pallavi Kumar, Executive Director, MOHAN Foundation (NCR), was the keynote speaker and was accompanied by Ms. Poonam Sharma, Curriculum and Moodle Content Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation. Ms. Kumar began the session by introducing the Foundation and its mission.

Key topics covered during the session included:

    • The significance of organ donation

    • Who can be a donor

    • Organ donation during life and after death

    • The difference between brain death and coma

    • The process of eye donation and corneal preservation after death

    • Legal aspects under the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act (THOTA), 1994

    • Common myths and facts surrounding organ donation

    • Body donation

    • Skin donation

During the interaction, one participant displayed her organ donor card registered under the MOHAN Foundation, while another showcased her eye donor card registered with PGI Chandigarh.

Although participants were generally well-informed about organ and tissue donation, there was some uncertainty regarding logistics—specifically, whom to contact at the time of death to ensure that the next of kin do not face difficulties in moments of distress. To address this, the MOHAN Foundation helpline number was shared for circulation among residents.

The session concluded with an interactive discussion and was attended by approximately 16 participants.
