  MOHAN Foundation Team with Quiz participants of Anna Adarash School

  On World AIDS Day, Anna Adarsh Matriculation School, Anna Nagar organized a AIDS awareness session and a session on organ Donation. MOHAN Foundation was also invited to give a presentation on Organ Donation for their XI and XII Science students. The session was held on 1^st December 2014 at the seminar hall at 1 pm.

   

  Dr. Sumana Navin, Course Director Dr. Hemal Kanvinde, Ms. Kavitha. S, Marketing Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation and Ms. Saroj Dhawan, Volunteer, MOHAN Foundation  addressed the gathering.  The session started with the welcome address by Ms. Jayalakshmi, Principal, Anna Adarsh Matriculation School. Ms. Kavitha. S delivered a talk on Organ Donation, the following topics were discussed:

   

  • Healthy and safe lifestyle
  • Importance and need of organ donation
  • Transplant Coordinator Training Programme
  • Types of donations – live and deceased donation
  • Difference between Natural Death, Coma and Brain Death
  • Organs and tissues  that can be donated in cardiac death and brain death
  • Eye donation
  • Importance of Donor card, helpline number and website

   

  At the end of the programme, prize distributions were done for the Quiz competition done on National Organ Donation Day - 27.11.2014. All students were so enthusiastic, participated during the session. Nearly 100 students participated in the session, information brochure were distributed.
