



About the Festival:
Attukal Pongala festival is an important festival celebrated by the people of Trivandrum in Kerala. During this festival lakhs of devotees join together in a particular place and offer pongala (a rice preparation) for the Attukal Devi. Attukal Pongala, is recognised by the Guinness World Records as the largest congregation of women on earth. This year on 2nd March 2018, nearly 10 lakhs devotees joined for the festival. Every year the government of Kerala organizes a medical camp to meet any medical emergency.
Organ Donation Kiosk:
MOHAN Foundation organized an Organ Donation Information desk during the festival in association with Kerala Network for Organ Sharing (KNOS), Ms. Kavitha. S, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation and Mr. Aneesh. P. V, Sr. Transplant Coordinator, KNOS manned the stall. The basic information on Organ Donation was given by one to one interaction to the visitors. Nearly 300 people visited the stall and 100 0f them took donor card. The KNOS donor cards were issued.
