Organ Donation Awareness 2K Rally at Malla Reddy Engineering College, Hyderabad

  • MOHAN Foundation was invited by the students of Malla Reddy Engineering College, Department of Business Management, to conduct an awareness session on organ donation to the students and faculty members on July 13th, 2017. The students have also planned to conduct an awareness 2K rally to spread awareness about organ donation among the surrounding colleges.

     

    There were about 300 students and teachers that had participated in the rally. The 2K rally was flagged off by the Principal, Dr. V.S.K. Reddy. The Principal had congratulated the students during his address to the gathering for taking up the noble cause of organ donation and pledged his support to the students for their efforts to spread awareness on organ donation. The awareness 2K rally started from the Department of Management Studies and went on towards other college campuses where students made slogans supporting organ donation. The rally concluded with the college HOD, Dr. Naveen Kumar addressing the gathering.

     

    An awareness session was conducted in the seminar hall where all the students and staff members participated in the discussion. Dr. Koti Reddy of MOHAN Foundation made a presentation to students and faculty on the importance of organ donation and the need for organ donation in India, the concept of brain death, laws pertaining to organ donation in India, misconceptions, and myths regarding organ donation. After the session, the 300 students and faculty pledged to donate organs and all of them were distributed donor cards and information brochures.

     

    We thank Dr. V.S.K. Reddy, Dr. Naveen Kumar, Mr. Shiva, all the staff members and the management of Malla Reddy Engineering College, Department of Business Management for organizing such an event and for giving an opportunity to interact with the students and faculty members.
