On April 04, 2025, an organ donation awareness was organized for the community members of Vellacheri village, Outer Ring Road, Tiruvallur District. This was done with the support of Nazareth College of Arts and Science, AVADI.
The community members were gathered at the Anganwadi building on Vellacheri village. The session began with Ms Bhavani Priya, Intern from Nazareth College of Arts and Science and an Organ Donation Ambassador, introducing the speaker Mr Ganesh C, Marketing Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation to the audience. Mr Ganesh, engaged the community and spoke on the importance of organ health and causes of organ failure. He then spoke on how to obtain organs, organ allocation and pledging as organ donor.
He informed the audience of the importance of voluntary body donation. He also briefed about the importance of organ donation helpline number 1800 103 7100.
Ms Bhavani Priya distributed information brochures, and thanked the community members for their support. 24 members participated and extended their support.
