On 30th August 2020, Janseva Foundation Alibaug district Raigad had invited MOHAN Foundation to arrange an online awareness session on Organ Donation. Mr Mohan Patil, founder of Janseva Foundation took this initiative as Organ Donation Month celebration.
Ms Pratima Phadatare held the session and introduced about MOHAN Foundation, it’s Mission, Vision and objectives. She explained the concept of organ and tissue donation. She also explained types of death i.e. cardiac death, brain death. Then she explained about brain death declaration and certification through Apnoea test. She elaborated the procedure of deceased organ donation and live organ donation. She also elaborated procedure of skin, bone and eye donation, as well as barriers of organ and tissue donation.
After that Ms Pratima Phadatare explained myths and facts related to organ and tissue donation and how it impacts on organ donation process. She then explained about the Donor Card and how to become an Organ Donor. She also elaborated the activities MOHAN Foundation conducts for volunteers programme i.e. Angels change program. Around of 4 participants attended the session.
