  On 13^th January 2023, MOHAN Foundation was invited to conduct an online awareness talk on organ donation for ICICI Foundation and Academy. This programme was organised in association with Transplant Help the Poor Foundation and ICICI Foundation. Mr. Amit Anjan, Centre Incharge from ICICI Foundation organised this programme. As a part of their campaign, sessions to raise awareness being held at other ICICI Foundation locations in various cities across India. Around 90 trainees and staff attended the session.

   

  Mr. Amit Anjan Anjan. Centre Incharge welcomed MOHAN Foundation faculty and introduced them to the students and the purpose of the talk.

   

  Ms. Neha Sharma addressed the gathering and introduced herself and MOHAN Foundation. Participants were given an introduction and presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Neha Sharma

   

  In this talk, she explained the following points: -

  • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
  • The status of organ donation in India and their requirements vs donation rates
  • She explained 5 myths on organ donation with their corresponding reality check
  • Difference between circulatory death and brain death
  • Age is not a constraint in donating their organs.
  • Real life story of an organ transplant patient was shared with the participants
  • Importance of the donor card
  • How to pledge or sign up for organ donation on MOHAN Foundation's website
  • MOHAN Foundation’s mission & vision

   

  At the end, Session was very interactive where students enthusiastically asked many questions. All the questions were answered after the presentation. The entire group got motivated and convinced to support organ donation. Mr. Amit Anjan gave a vote of thanks. He said that the session was very interesting and informative.
