National Teacher’s Association India (NTAI) invites MOHAN Foundation to conduct an organ donation talk for its members

  • On 29th July, 2022, MOHAN Foundation conducted an organ donation talk for National Teacher’s Association India (NTAI) Dr. Rupa Verma, Principal of Sitabai Nargundkar College of Nursing was instrumental in conducting this session, so she invited Dr. Ravi Wankhede to address the audience about organ donation.

    Dr. Farukh Khan- President of NTAI, Dr. Maneesh Kumar- Secretary of NTAI, Dr. Rupa Verma State Secretary of NTAI, Maharashtra and other teachers were present for the session.

    Dr. Ravi Wankhede presented his PPT and discussed the below topics on organ donation

    1. What is organ donation and tissues donation?
    2. Age limit to donate organs
    3. Whom to contact for organ donation?
    4. Concept of Brain death and Cardiac death?
    5. What is the difference between coma and brain death?
    6. Importance of donor card & helpline number?
    7. What are the legal process involved in organ donation?
    8. Myths and facts about organ donation.
    9. What is Green corridor?
    10. Role of Doctors & Nurses in organ donation.

     

    The session was highly motivating and the concepts were explained in a simpler manner. Close to 250 participants were present for the session.

     

    Questions asked by the participants were as follows:

    • How many MOHAN Foundation centers are there in India?
    • Does MOHAN Foundation help in providing financial assistance for poor kidney failure patients?

     

    We thank the organizers and the NTAI team for inviting us and supporting the cause of organ donation.
