An Interactive Session on Organ Donation conducted for the NCC Students at Anurag Engineering College, Telangana

  • On 3rd August 2022,MOHAN Foundation in association with Rotary club conducted an interactive session on organ donation and transplantation at Anurag Engineering College. Dr.Bhanu Chandra and Ms.Srividya Subramanian were the key resource

    Dr.Bhanu Chandra addressed the audience and introduced MOHAN Foundation, its mission and vision. He then asked the participants a few introductory questions on organ donation to have an understanding of their knowledge quotient regarding the subject and he also elucidated the need to promote organ donation in the country.

    The following topics were discussed in detail:

    • The concept of Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation
    • Procedure of deceased and live Organ Donation
    • Procedures of eye, skin and bone donation
    • Barriers to Organ Donation
    • Myths and facts related to Organ Donation

    The NCC students were engaged throughout the session and enthusiastically contributed to the discussion and asked many queries. To name a few

    • Procedure for Bone Marrow Donation
    • Procedure to pledge for organs

    Dr.Chandra and Ms.Srividya motivated the audience to pledge for Organ Donation and share the information with their parents and extended family. They also displayed the MOHAN Foundation Toll Free Number to the students and asked them to spread the word.

    Close to 300 students attended the session out of which 200 pledged to donate organs
