On 31th January 2014 MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur center was invited by Miss. Padma Kubde, Project Coordinator of Prevention of Parents to Child Transmission, of Manav Vikas Bahuadeshiya Gramin Seva Sanstha, Dattawadi, Nagpur, to give a talk on Deceased Organ Donation.
Mr. Bulu Behera gave a presentation which highlighted the organs that can be donated after Brain death, Natural Death & Live Donation. He made the staff understand that after Brain Death it is impossible to come back to life. Yet a Brain Death can help several people who are suffering from end stage organ failure. It is possible if the relatives of Brain Death patient consent to donate the organs.
After the talk employees discussed the following questions.
1) With a donated kidney for how many year a person can survive?
2) What is the difference between in Coma & Brain Death?
3) Which body will be used for body donation?
4) Why people are not ready to donate their organs after death?
The participants for the session were 11 and all of them picked donor card.
