MOHAN Foundation was invited by NephroPlus for their annual patient and caregiver gala called Aashayein on March 8, 2026 at Hotel Vijay Park at Madhavaram. Dr Hemal Kanvinde represented MOHAN Foundation and set an information desk with brochures and donor cards.
The invitees were patients on dialysis, caregiver, dialysis technicians and clinicians. There were a wide variety of talks from kidney health, diet, new in dialysis to transplants. Dr Hemal spoke on how to get a transplant, how to register under TRANSTAN and how to pledge to become a donor. Post the lectures there were fun games organised for the invitees.
All the 210 people received an information brochure and a green ribbon. Two people registered as donors. Queries at the desk were on how soon can we get a cadaver transplant, what is the success rate of a swap transplant, is it good to register in another state? MOHAN Foundation thanks NephroPlus for this opportunity.
