MOHAN Foundation was invited by Dr. Swarnalatha, In-Charge of Jeevandan, to participate in the rally organized on International Women’s Day at Tankbund on March 08, 2015. The rally was organized by Gandhi Hospital and nursing students of Gandhi Hospital Nursing College & Osmania Hospital Nursing College actively participated in the rally.
The rally was organized to celebrate International Women’s Day and also create awareness about female feticide and organ donation. There were about 400 students and volunteers that have actively participated in the event. Dr. Swarnalatha, In-charge of Jeevandan, Dr. Koti Reddy and Dr. Bhanu Prakash of MOHAN Foundation interacted with the students on the importance of deceased organ donation and myths surrounding organ donation and distributed information brochures to the participants.
The rally began from Marriott Hotel and proceeded till the end of Tankbund entire two kilometers. The rally was flagged off by Smt. Padma Devender Reddy, Deputy Speaker and Dr. Dhairyavan, Medical Superintendent of Gandhi Hospital, addressed media on the importance of saving the girl child and organ donation. The students enthusiastically distributed information brochures, displayed placards to the public and shouted slogans on saving the girl child and organ donation.
We thank Dr. Swarnalatha, In-Charge of Jeevandan, and volunteers of Gandhi Hospital for organizing this event to promote organ donation. We also thank all the young participants that have actively participated in this event to promote the noble cause of organ donation.
