MOHAN Foundation participates in NDTV- Fortis 'More to Give Walkathon' in Gurugram

  • On November 25, 2018, MOHAN Foundation (NCR) team participated in the NDTV-Fortis 'More to Give Walkathon' that was flagged off from Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI), Gurugram. The walkathon was simultaneously organised in 6 other cities namely Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Jaipur, Mohali and Kolkata to highlight the cause of organ donation.

     

    The Gurugram walkathon was flagged off by actor Rajkummar Rao. Over 7000 people from all walks of life came forward to participate in the walkathon and support the cause of organ donation. Various schools, colleges and organizations came forward to support the cause. Actor Rajkummar Rao expressed his disappointment at the low organ donation rates in India. The actor also took a pledge to donate his eyes and rest of his organs post death. He added saying that he will take out personal time and shall address more and more people about it.

     

    The enormous participation from different states of India was a big contribution to the cause. Every year on National Organ Donation Day, the NDTV-Fortis Walkathon is organised across different cities of India to raise awareness, bust myths about organ donation and encourage people to become organ donors. Over the years, the campaign has gathered support from celebrities like actor Irrfan Khan, Swara Bhasker, Gul Panag, Raima Sen, Rajpal Singh, Satinder Sartaj and Former Indian Hockey Captain Sandeep Singh.
