MOHAN Foundation organized an introductory session on the “Post Graduate Diploma in Transplant Coordination & Grief Counseling” at Shija Hospitals & Research Institute, Langol, Manipur

  • On March 20, 2024, MOHAN Foundation organized an introductory session for the “Post Graduate Diploma in Transplant Coordination & Grief Counseling” course in accordance with the agreement made by Dr. Sunil Shroff, Managing Trustee of MOHAN Foundation, and Dr. Palin, Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Shija Hospitals & Research Institute Pvt Ltd., to initiate a dual degree course at the Shija Academy of Nursing, Langol, Manipur.

     

    The course was designed by Ms. Sujatha Suriyamoorthi, Associate Director-Courses at MOHAN Foundation, in close consultation with Ms. Laishram Monica Devi, Programme Officer at MOHAN Foundation. The program was conducted by Ms. Laishram Monica Devi and Ms. Thoidingjam Udayini Khuman, Transplant Coordinator at MOHAN Foundation.

     

    The introductory presentation of the course was held at the premises of Shija Hospitals & Research Institute Pvt Ltd. The faculty and final year students of B.Sc. Nursing at the Shija Academy of Nursing, as well as ICU staff at Shija Hospitals & Research Institute (SHRI), Langol, Manipur, participated in the session.

     

    Ms. Monica began the session by assessing the students’ perception and understanding of organ donation and transplantation. Then, she started her presentation by introducing MOHAN Foundation, followed by an explanation of the course details with the help of a PowerPoint presentation.

     

    Points explained in detail included:

    • Objectives of the course

    • Course Curriculum

    • Scope of Transplant Coordination

    • Who can join the course?

    • Benefits of the dual degree

    • Modules and mode of the course

     

    Following this, a one-on-one interaction session was held with the participants, during which they raised queries related to the course and fieldwork in transplant coordination.

     

    At the end of the session, the faculty of the Academy extended their gratitude to the MOHAN Foundation team for introducing and structuring such a unique course.

     

    Close to 80 participants attended the session
