MOHAN Foundation joins Edelweiss Tokio to create awareness at IIM Lucknow

  • On Jan 5, 2023, the company Edelweiss Tokio under its CSR theme of Zindagi Unlimited started its campaign on Organ Donation for the 4th year.    MOHAN Foundation is the knowledge partner for the campaign.  The first event was conducted at Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow with the student Team Bhavishya organizing a talk for first year students. Mr.  Vikas Bansal Head Human Resources of Edelweiss Tokio and Dr Hemal Kanvinde Quality Assurance Officer of MOHAN Foundation were the resource persons.  Around 50 students attended the talk.

    Mr Bansal introduced the topic in a soft manner speaking of new year resolutions and saying that his resolution to spread the word on organ donation is fulfilled every year. He spoke of the study conducted by the company to gauge the public mood on organ donation and highlighted the myths that need to be addressed if we want India to be a “Giving Nation”.

    Dr Hemal Kanvinde gave information on what can be donated and when donations happen. She spoke of brain death, causes and certification and need for grief counselors in hospitals. She also gave information on the protocols within each state for Deceased Organ Donation for organ allocation.

    Discussion during the talks were on incentives to donor families, costs of transplants and process of pledging. MOHAN Foundation thanks the Team Bhavishya of IIM Lucknow and Edelweiss Tokio for organizing the event.
