MOHAN Foundation, in Collaboration with Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, New Delhi, Unveils Striking Exhibit Life Before Ashes

  • In a powerful tribute to the life-saving impact of organ donation, MOHAN Foundation, in collaboration with Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, New Delhi, unveiled a striking exhibit titled “Life Before Ashes.” The exhibition was on display from July 4 to August 3, 2025, across the East and West wings of the hospital including prominent locations near the main entrance and auditorium.

This unique installation featured intricately crafted models of the human heart, liver, kidney, and eyeball — all made from ashes mixed with mud. Created by MOHAN Foundation, the art installation served as a poignant reminder of the potential of organ donation. Through its compelling visuals, it conveyed a powerful message: what now lies in ashes could have been someone’s heart, liver, or kidney — if only the organs had been donated.

The exhibition formed the emotional and visual centrepiece of a month-long organ donation awareness campaign. A key highlight of the month was the Umang Awards Ceremony, held in alignment with the organ donation movement. The heartfelt event featured felicitations of deceased donor families, emotional testimonials from cadaver organ recipients, a moving skit by students of Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar, and award presentations for poster-making, slogan/poetry, and rangoli competitions focused on organ donation. The campaign concluded with a Walkathon on August 3, 2025, commemorating Indian Organ Donation Day.

The exhibit drew significant attention from hospital staff and visitors alike, sparking meaningful conversations and deepening awareness about the critical importance of organ donation.
