


On July 15, 2025, MOHAN Foundation, in association with the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, conducted an awareness session on organ donation at the Outpatient Department (OPD), RIMS. The session was led by Ms. Laishram Monica Devi, Project Coordinator (Northeast) and Project Lead (Manipur), MOHAN Foundation.
Organized as part of Organ Donation Month, the session was held in coordination with Ms. Chongtham Pritam, Medical Social Worker supporting the transplant program at RIMS.
Ms. Monica opened the session by emphasizing the importance of organ donation. She explained the concept of brain death, the difference between living and deceased donation, and the overall process of organ transplantation. She also outlined the criteria for becoming an organ donor and shared details about the transplant program at RIMS, including how individuals can register as donors. Common myths were addressed with facts to help demystify organ donation.
The session concluded with the distribution of FAQs printed in the local language. Nearly 60 participants attended and gained valuable insights into the life-saving impact of organ donation.
