MOHAN Foundation conducts awareness programme at Central Bank of India, Sambalpur, Odisha

  • On 8th December 2017, MOHAN Foundation, Cuttack was invited by Central Bank of India (CBI), Regional Office, Sambalpur to conduct an awareness programme on Organ Donation on the occasion of 107th Foundation Day of CBI. It was coordinated by Mr. Srikanta Padhi, Asst. Manager, CBI. Ms. Anindita Sabath, Transplant Coordinator was the representative of MOHAN Foundation at the programme.

    Branch Managers and staff members from various branches of the region participated in the programme. Mr. P. Suresh, Senior Regional Manager, started the programme by felicitating MOHAN Foundation and giving the welcome address.

    Ms. Anindita Sabath made the presentation on Organ Donation and it contained the following topics:-

    1. Introduction of MOHAN Foundation and the activities carried out
    2. What is Organ Donation?
    3. When can organs be donated?
    4. Who can donate organs?
    5. Why is it important to donate organs?
    6. Myths and misconceptions regarding Organ Donation
    7. THOA 1994
    8. What is a donor card & how to pledge organs?

    Participants raised various queries after the presentation. Questions were asked on status of Organ Donation in Odisha, tissue donation after natural death, what is the guarantee that organs will be going to a deserving patient, can I pledge to donate organs to only my family members after my death.

    The participants showed a lot of interest and were motivated for the noble cause. 2 videos on Organ Donation were shown after the presentation. The participants also signed their donor cards and filled up their pledge forms.

    A total of 37 participants attended the session.
