




Dr. Ravi Wankhede of MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur Centre spoke at the Shri. Sai College of Engg. & Technology, Bhadrawati, Chandrapur District on organ donation on 22nd January 2016. At the outset, Prof. V. M. Yergude Chairman of the College, Dr. J.F. Agrawal Principal spoke on the need to know about the subject and welcomed Dr. Wankhede. Prof. P.K. Borkar Coordinator of NSS asked the members of NSS to listen and help spread the knowledge of organ donation to the students and places. Dr. Ravi Wankhede was formally introduced by Prof. V.H. Sadrani to the audience.
Dr. Ravi Wankhede gave a PPP to a jam packed hall of staff and students of the college. He elaborated on the progress of medical science whereby organs and tissues could be used by the needy to save their lives from living and more important after death. He explained at length ‘brain death’ a condition which could help several people who required life saving organs. He spoke on the contribution MOHAN Foundation to increase the number of organ donation in the country. He told the audience, that death is a certainty which is the ultimate end of man, so why not help humanity, if one could be donating organs and tissues prior to burning or burying.
Over 150 people were present in the hall. 11 people picked up donor card by filling the pledge form.
