MOHAN foundation was invited by Mr. Sharad Jighkar, Regional Transport Officer, Giripeth, Nagpur to conduct an awareness session on organ donation on 20 July 2018. This was for drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving license and the session was conducted in the training hall.
Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation delivered a talk on Organ Donation. In his talk he explained for following points:
v What is Organ Donation and the Law
v Type of organ donation & Who can donate organ
v Difference between Brain Death, Natural Death and Coma
v Myths related to Organ donation
v Deceased donation case in Nagpur
v Kidney transplant hospital in Nagpur
v Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website
It was a very interactive session.35 drivers were present at the talk and 4 drivers signed consent form and took donor cards.
