


On 10th Sep 2018, MOHAN Foundation conducted a seminar on organ donation for 2nd and 3rd year students of Nursing at Mohammed Sathak AJ College of Nursing, Siruseri, Chennai. The program was attended by around 100 nursing students.
Dr. Hemal Kanvinde, Siva Shankar, Bulu Behera and Ishwarya represented MOHAN Foundation and organized the day’s activities. Dr Hemal welcomed the audience and introduced MOHAN Foundation. Siva Shankar followed with the explanation of organ donation and transplantation concepts, facts, statistics and also myths. The students were then shown a video of a clinical apnea test being conducted in process of certifying brain death. They also eagerly participated in a quiz administered by Siva Shankar.
Dr. Hemal continued the session by explaining the protocol in deceased organ donation. The step-by-step process and the stakeholders involved at every point were illustrated in detail. She also briefly talked about grief counseling and answered many questions from the audience.
The students and staff thanked MOHAN Foundation for an informative session.
