On 18th October, 2013 an awareness session on organ donation and transplantation was held at Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26, Chandigarh. The talk was conducted for the NSS volunteers from the college. The session was part of their one day seminar on ‘Youth for Sustainable Development’. Ms. Arpna Rattu, Programme Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation, Chandigarh took the initiative to organise the session. Mr. Sudhir Dewan, Director, MOHAN Foundation, Chandigarh addressed the audience and educated them about organ donation.
Over 200 students and 10 faculty members attended the talk and many of them pledged their organs by signing the donor card. The faculty expressed their interest in organising another session on organ donation in December for the other students.
