MOHAN Foundation conducts Peer Educators Program on Organ Donation at Ravindra Bharti School, Tolichowki, Hyderabad

  • MOHAN Foundation was invited by Ravindra Bharti School, Tolichowki, to conduct an awareness session for their students as a part of their SCIENTIA (Science) Exhibition organized on February 11, 2015.

     

    Student volunteers that will present about organ donation during the science fest participated in the session along with some staff members. The students were provided with information brochures, activity reports of MOHAN Foundation, donor cards to be distributed during the science fest.

     

    Dr. Koti Reddy of MOHAN Foundation gave an exclusive presentation about the importance of deceased organ donation, religious and cultural barriers involved with organ donation & eye donation, benefits of transplantation, T.H.O 1994 Act, concept of brain death and myths surrounding organ donation. They were also explained on the importance of donor card and the activities of MOHAN Foundation.

     

    We thank the Mr. Ravi Kumar and Principal of Ravindra Bharti School - Tolichowki for giving us the opportunity to train their students trained on organ donation and the students in turn will spread the information to the general public especially the parents of school students.

     

    We thank Sri. M. Subramanyam, Chairman, Ravindra Bharti School for permitting us in organizing this event to promote organ donation. We also thank all the student volunteers for their active participation.
