MOHAN Foundation conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation at the Indian Red Cross Society, UT Branch, Chandigarh, Session-4

  • On 6th December 2022, MOHAN Foundation was invited by the Training Supervisor, The Indian Red Cross Society, UT Branch, Chandigarh to conduct an awareness talk on Organ Donation for their First Aid Students at Rainbsera Building Chandigarh. Around 25 participants from various parts of Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh attended the program. The participants included college students, patient care attendants, home nursing, nannies and bus conductors.

    Mr. Sushil Kumar,Training Supervisor addressed the gathering and gave a brief introduction on organ donation to the participants.

    Participants were given the presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms.Neha Sharma.

    In this talk, she explained the following points: -

    • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
    • She explained 5 myths on organ donation with their corresponding reality check
    • Difference between circulatory death and brain death
    • Real life story of an organ transplant patient was shared with the participants
    • Importance of the donor card
    • How to pledge or sign up for organ donation on MOHAN Foundation's website

    It was an interactive session. All of them took the donor cards. MOHAN Foundation thanks Indian Red Cross Society UT Chandigarh for the opportunity. Our special thanks to Mr. Sushil kumar for inviting MOHAN Foundation.
