MOHAN Foundation conducts Awareness Session on Organ Donation at Kalmakar, Mangalore, Karnataka

  • MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Narendra to conduct an awareness session on organ donation on December 13, 2014 as a part of Government Primary School inauguration event organized in Kalmakar, Sullia Taluk, Mangalore, Karnataka.

     

    There were about 300 people that have participated in the event and all the staff members were distributed donor cards and family donor cards. There were about 50 staff members and visitors that have come forward to pledge to donate organs. All the students were provided with information brochures and activity reports of MOHAN Foundation.

     

    Ms. Akshatha of MOHAN Foundation spoke about the importance of deceased organ donation, religious and cultural barriers involved with organ donation & eye donation, concept of brain death and myths surrounding organ donation.

     

    We thank school management for helping us in organizing this event to promote organ donation. We also thank all the staff members for their active participation and hope that this event has ignited the young minds of the students on organ donation.

     

    As a part of our new program Public Awareness of Rural India (PARI), we welcome many more invitations from rural areas to conduct such events.
