  On 6^thDecember 2023, MOHAN Foundation Nagpur conducted an Organ donation awareness session at JEB Computer Institute in Sugat Nagar. Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator was the speaker for the session. The session was attended by MSCIT students & staff.  

  Mr. Bulu Behera began the session by asking participants, what they knew about Organ donation. He then explained the current status of Organ donation in India & explained the basic concept of Organ donation & Transplantation.

  • What is organ donation & Its need in the society? 
  • Who can be an Organ donor?
  • Explanation about Living & Deceased donation.
  • In case brain death which organs and tissues can be donated?
  • What are causes of brain death?
  • Whom to contact for organ donation? 
  • Role of MOHAN Foundation.
  • Role of NOTTO, ROTTO, SOTTO, ZTCC for organ donation.
  • Information about Human Organ Transplant Act 1994.
  • Information about Hand and Leg transplantation.
  • Myths and facts related organ donation.

  Questions asked by participants-

  • How to differentiate between coma and brain death?
  • After Brain death what is the time factor for organ retrieve?

  20 students were present & only single participant signed pledge form rest of them taken the form & will pledge after discussion with their family members. MOHAN Foundation thanks Mr. Prasant Barik for giving opportunity to conduct the session & supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
