


On 14th February, 2017 MOHAN Foundation Mumbai invited by Dr. Anil Suchak & Dr. Umesh Khanna, on behalf of Malad Medical Association, to conduct awareness talks at University of Mumbai, Kalina for teachers from various schools and different disciplines in Mumbai.
Dr. Hemal Bharecha, a member of Malad Medical Association introduced the workshop by speaking about the functions of vital organs in our body and how it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Mrs. Jaya Jairam then spoke about what is Organ Donation, why it is the need of hour in India, who can donate and how organ donation and transplantation is done. She also discussed the various barriers, myths and facts relating to organ donation.
She then shared her personal story of how she decided to work towards furthering the cause of organ donation after being able to come out of her own kidney failure situation, thanks to receiving a kidney through transplant.
Many people were inspired to Pledge their organs and picked up forms for further signups.
We wish to thank the Director of Human Resources and Malad Medical Association for inviting us for conducting the workshop.
