On September 17–18, 2025, MOHAN Foundation, in collaboration with the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO), Manipur, under the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), participated in the two-day State Level program of the “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan (SNSPA)” at the Community Health Centre, Khumbong, Imphal West. The event was jointly organized by DHS and the National Health Mission (NHM), Manipur. The MOHAN Foundation team was led by Ms. Laishram Monica Devi, Program Coordinator (Northeast) & Project Lead (Manipur), along with Mr. Bidyananda Laishram, Senior Program Executive.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by eminent dignitaries, including Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Hon’ble Governor of Manipur, as Chief Guest; Shri Puneet Kumar Goel, Chief Secretary, Government of Manipur, as President; and Dr. Sapam Ranjan Singh, Hon’ble MLA of Konthoujam Constituency, as Guest of Honour. As part of the program, MOHAN Foundation, in collaboration with SOTTO-Manipur and with support from the Manipur State Eye Bank, set up an information stall on organ and tissue donation. The stall was jointly managed by Dr. Ningthoukhongjam Shugeta Devi (Deputy Director – State Medical Board & Deputy State Nodal Officer, SOTTO-Manipur), Dr. N. Homendro (State Nodal Officer, SOTTO-Manipur), and Dr. Vikram Singh Khoisnam (State Nodal Officer, NPCB&VI, NHM Manipur), together with the MOHAN Foundation team and support staff.
Day 1 (September 17, 2025):
The Hon’ble Governor of Manipur visited the information stall and interacted with the team. During the interaction, Dr. Shugeta Devi briefed him on the current status of organ donation and transplantation in the state. The team engaged participants through one-on-one counselling sessions, distributed pamphlets on organ and eye donation, and explained the process of pledging organs and tissues. The stall created a platform for interactive learning and dialogue, encouraging participants to consider organ and tissue donation. On the first day, around 40 participants visited the stall, with 5 pledging their organs and tissues.
Day 2 (September 18, 2025):
Counselling sessions and pledge facilitation continued with active participation from attendees. The stall received visits from eminent leaders, including Ningthou Shri Sanajaoba Leishemba, The Maharaja of Manipur and Hon’ble MP (Rajya Sabha), Smt. Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi, State President of BJP Manipur, Dr. Sapam Ranjan Singh, and other state office bearers. Mr. Bidyananda briefed them on the stall’s outreach, awareness activities, and the pledges received. On the second day, about 30 participants engaged with the team, resulting in 8 more organ and tissue donation pledges.
Over the course of two days, nearly 70 participants visited the stall, and 13 individuals pledged their organs and tissues.
