  • MOHAN Foundation participated in MANFETE 2025, held from April 24 to 26, 2025, at the auditorium of Manipur University. The event was organized by the Manipur Institute of Management Studies (MIMS). Representing the Foundation were Ms. Laishram Monica Devi (Project Coordinator – North East & Project Lead – Manipur), Mr. Bidyananda Laishram (Senior Program Executive), Ms. Mayarani Thaudem (Program Executive), and volunteers Mr. Nitin, Mr. Bikash, and Mr. Jeson.

MANFETE is the only management festival in Manipur and has grown into a premier youth platform in Northeast India over the past two decades. Organized by MIMS students, the 2025 edition carried the theme “Rhythms in the Chaos”, focusing on providing youth with access to resources, opportunities, and platforms to realize their potential. Events included literary competitions, e-sports, creative arts, cosplay, and pageantry competitions like Manhunt and Manfete Queen. MOHAN Foundation participated to raise awareness on organ donation, particularly among the youth.

The festival was inaugurated by Prof. N. Lokendra (Vice Chancellor, MU), Prof. Memcha Loitongbam (Dean, School of Social Science), Prof. Ch. Ibohal (Dean of Students’ Welfare), Dr. S. Somokanta (Chairman, MANFETE 2025), and Prof. L. Prabhakar (Director, MIMS). The event drew participation from students, faculty, organizations, and renowned personalities such as Mr. Nongthombam Suraj (President, Manipur University Students’ Union), fashion entrepreneur Mr. Robert Naorem, actress Mrs. Leishangthem Tonthoinganbi Devi, social media influencers, scholars, and reporters.

    Day 1 – April 24, 2025: Awareness Launch

MOHAN Foundation set up an information stall featuring brochures on e-learning modules, the Anudaan program, updates on the transplant programme in Manipur, and posters on organ donation. A pledge counter and signatory board were also part of the exhibit, along with IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials such as FAQ pamphlets.

Ms. Laishram Monica Devi was invited by Prof. L. Prabhakar to introduce MOHAN Foundation’s work during the auditorium session. She spoke about the Foundation’s nationwide efforts, highlighted the progress in Manipur’s state-run hospitals, and emphasized the importance of supporting organ donation.

The team conducted one-on-one sessions with 80 individuals, providing in-depth information and clarifying doubts on organ donation.

Day 2 – April 25, 2025: Outreach and Creative Advocacy

Approximately 1,000 attendees received IEC materials. The team creatively engaged visitors by collaborating with cosplayers and students who carried placards promoting organ donation.

A MOHAN Foundation PSA (Public Short Announcement) video titled “Why Should I Be an Organ Donor?” was screened as a filler at the auditorium, which had an audience capacity of 1,500.

Interactive conversations were held with youth influencers, bloggers, and young entrepreneurs to further the cause and gain support.

    Day 3 – April 26, 2025: Grand Finale & Youth Engagement

During the final day’s main events — MANHUNT and MANFETE Queen 2025 — the PSA video was rebroadcasted to an audience of around 3,000. A scripted audio was also played, summarizing MOHAN Foundation’s mission and encouraging pledges.

FAQs in the local language were distributed to event sponsors and officials. The organizing committee acknowledged MOHAN Foundation’s contribution, and Ms. Monica presented tokens of appreciation — including coasters, Indian Transplant Newsletters, and FAQs — to the winners of the pageants.

Over the three days, nearly 4,500 youth were engaged through interactive sessions, audiovisual aids, and IEC materials. More than 2,000 IEC items were distributed. Six individuals expressed interest in pledging for organ donation, including:

    • A.K. Longja, a social content creator, who pledged and offered to use his platform to promote awareness.

    • Norris H., a student at the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Imphal, and former Indian Red Cross Society volunteer, who was initiated into MOHAN Foundation’s Ambassador Programme.

MOHAN Foundation’s participation in MANFETE 2025 proved to be a successful initiative in youth-focused awareness and advocacy. Through interactive outreach and strategic engagement, the Foundation enhanced understanding and support for organ donation. The enthusiastic response signified the youth’s readiness to contribute to this life-saving cause.

The event also opened avenues for future collaboration with academic institutions for awareness campaigns and curriculum-based activities.
