  • Session 2, 29th July 2017:

On the day of the second session of the training program, a sheet containing Stories of Hope was distributed among the volunteers. The volunteers were asked to read all the stories and select one story that touched their heart. The Volunteers were asked why they chose the particular story and what they felt about the donor family’s decision to donate organs. All the volunteers had at least one story that touched their heart.

The volunteers were then asked to give mock presentations. All the volunteers were called one by one and asked to present. Some of them had prepared their own presentations. This session was conducted to help the volunteers to prepare themselves, before conducting an awareness session in front of general public.

After finishing the mock presentations, the volunteers were taken to Global Hospital where MOHAN Foundation had arranged for an interaction session between experts and the volunteers. Mrs. Jaya Jairam gave a brief introduction about Dr. Bharat Shah, a renowned nephrologist in Mumbai and Dr. Ravi Mohanka, a leading liver transplant surgeon based in Mumbai. The doctors addressed all the questions and also gave some additional information about organ donation. Some of the Angels of Change were lucky to be invited to watch live, a liver transplant operation in progress, at Global Hospital.

We thank all the volunteers for taking out time and helping us impart knowledge to them so that they can be instrumental in being our Angels of Change and spreading the word about organ donation.
