MOHAN Foundation Mumbai conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation for S.I.E.S College of Management Studies, Nerul

  • On 27th July, 2017 MOHAN Foundation Mumbai was invited by Col. D P Singh on behalf of Sankalp Senior Citizen’s Association, Belapur and Dr. A.K. Sengupta, Director, SIES College of Management Studies, Nerul to conduct awareness talks for management students of SIES College of Management Studies, Nerul.

     

    After sharing a brief introduction about MOHAN Foundation and its activities, Mrs. Jaya Jairam spoke about what is Organ Donation, why is it needed, who can be donors and the process of how organ donation and transplantation is done. She also discussed the various barriers, myths and facts relating to organ donation.  She went on to share her personal story of how she decided to work towards furthering the cause of organ donation after undergoing a kidney transplant.

     

    A lot of queries were asked regarding the process of organ donation as well as the process of registration on the waiting list. Mr.Amit Shenoy and Mrs.Jaya Jairam answered all the queries.

     

    Quite a few among the audience took the pledge to donate their organs while some picked up forms for further signups after consulting their loved ones. A few students were interested in volunteering for MOHAN Foundation and gave their contact details to be part of Angels of Change programme in Mumbai.
