MOHAN Foundation Invited to conduct Awareness Session on Organ Donation for Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian College, Bengaluru

  • On 10th July 2023 MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session at Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian College. The session was conducted in association with Mrs. Anthuvangrace HOD of Zoology department who approached the Bengaluru Team for an awareness session. Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS was the key speaker

    Mrs. Ranjini began the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation, its mission and vision and proceeded to explain the following:

    • The concept of organ and tissue donation
    • The types of death i.e., circulatory death and brain death
    • Brain death declaration, apnoea test and other clinical tests
    • Procedure of deceased and live organ donation
    • Procedures of eye, skin and bone donation
    • Barriers to organ donation
    • Myths and facts related to organ donation
    • Green corridor
    • The role of Jeevasarthakathe
    • Transplant Law
    • Importance of a donor card 

    Mrs. Ranjini was accompanied by Mr. Surya Prakash, Program coordinator. MOHAN Foundation conveys its gratitude to Mrs. Anthuvangrace HOD of Zoology department Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian College for choosing to support this life-saving cause.

    Around 60 students attended the session
