On February 20, 2026, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness talk on organ donation at the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Mantripukhri, Imphal East, Manipur. The session was led by Ms. Moirangthem Priya Devi, Program Executive, along with Mr. Elangbam Paringanba Singh, Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation.
The session was organized in collaboration with Mr. Kiran, Program Head, Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy (AYUSH), with the support of the centre’s staff.
Ms. Priya began the session by introducing the team and presenting the concept of organ donation. She explained the vital organs that can be donated and clarified the difference between living and deceased organ donation. She highlighted how the selfless act of organ donation can save lives and positively transform the future of individuals awaiting transplantation. She also emphasized that organ donation is a noble service to humanity and reinforced the ethical principle that strictly prohibits the buying and selling of human organs.
In conclusion, Ms. Priya informed participants about the availability of a toll-free helpline and shared comprehensive informational resources for those seeking further clarification on organ donation. Informational pamphlets were distributed to enhance understanding and address participants’ queries and concerns.
Approximately 15 participants attended the session and gained valuable insights into the importance of organ donation as a noble and humanitarian act of service to society.
