MOHAN Foundation Conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation for NCC Cadets & Officers at NCC Complex, Sector-31D, Chandigarh

  • On 21st October 2021, MOHAN Foundation was invited by the Commandant, Wg. Cdr. B S Srinivas to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation for their NCC Cadets & Officers at NCC Complex, Sector-31D, Chandigarh. Around 180 Cadets from various schools of Chandigarh and Officers participated in the program.

    Mr. Rakesh Thakur, Training Officer started the lecture giving general information about Organ Donation and introduced Ms. Neha Sharma.

    Participants were given an introduction and presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Neha Sharma.

    In this talk, she explained the following points: -

    • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
    • The status of Organ Donation in India and their requirements vs donation rates
    • She challenged 5 myths with 5 facts on Organ Donation
    • Difference between circulatory death and brain death
    • Age is not a constraint in donating their organs.
    • Real life stories of an organ transplant being shared with the participants and how they became a legacy
    • Importance of the Donor card
    • How to pledge or sign up for organ donation on MOHAN Foundation's website
    • MOHAN Foundation’s mission & vision

    The entire audience got motivated and was an interactive session with the Cadets. The awareness talk ended with a vote of thanks by Wg. Cdr. B S Srinivas.
