On November 4, 2025, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness talk on organ donation at the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Mantripukhri, Imphal East, Manipur. The session was led by Mr. Bidyananda Laishram, Senior Program Executive, and Ms. Priya Moirangthem, Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation.
The session was organized in collaboration with Mr. Kiran, Program Head, Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy (AYUSH), and the supporting staff of the centre.
Mr. Bidyananda introduced the concept of organ donation, highlighting the vital organs that can be donated and explaining the difference between living and deceased organ donation. He emphasized the importance of deceased organ donation in serving humanity and discussed the ethical aspects of prohibiting the buying and selling of organs. He also guided participants on how to pledge for organ donation and stressed the importance of involving family members in the decision-making process. In addition, he provided details about the toll-free helpline number and other information sources for further queries.
Information pamphlets on organ donation were distributed among participants to enhance their understanding and address any doubts. Close to 20 participants, including children, attended the session and gained valuable insights into the significance of organ donation as an act of service to humanity.
