MOHAN Foundation Conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation at Red Cross - Punjab, Chandigarh - Session 166

  • On 10th June 2019, MOHAN Foundation was invited by the secretary, Red Cross – Punjab, Chandigarh to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation for their First Aid Students at Vivekanand Bhawan, Chandigarh. Around 60 participants from various parts of Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh College Students, Patient Care Attendants, Home Nursing, Nannies and Bus Conductors participated in the program.

    Participants were given the presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Neha Sharma.

    In this talk she explained the following points: -

    • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
    • She challenged 5 myths with 5 facts on Organ Donation
    • Difference between natural death and brain death
    • Real life stories of an organ transplant being shared with the participants
    • Importance of Donor card
    • To pledge their organs they can register at MOHAN Foundation

    It was an interactive session. Around 60 people were present in the training room and 45 of them picked up their donor card and most of the participants took the donor cards for their family also. They would love to share their wish with their families. MOHAN Foundation thanks the Red Cross for the opportunity.
