On 11th of June 2019, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness talk on organ donation for the Self Help Group leaders of Madras Social Service Society office in Avadi. The session which began around 12:00 PM was attended by a group of fifteen SHG leaders. The talk was delivered by Ms. Juhija, Statistician and Mr. Siva Shankar, Helpline Executive of MOHAN Foundation, assisted by Ms. Jinimol K V and Shamily V S, students of MMM College of Health Sciences interning at MOHAN Foundation.
Ms. Juhija began by talking about list of organs that can be donated, brain death, cardiac death and coma, Transplantation of Human Organs Act and age criteria in organ donation. She also explained about how to register when in need of an organ and the myths and misconceptions related to organ donation.
Later Mr. Siva Shankar spoke about the organ donor card and Helpline number of MOHAN Foundation.

Four SHG leaders registered their names as organ donors and received donor cards.
