MOHAN Foundation Conducts Awareness Session on Organ Donation at Adarsha Institute of Management, Bengaluru

  On 11^th april,2022, MOHAN Foundation was invited to conducted an awareness session on organ donation and transplantation by Mr. Sunil Nama of CII YI ( Chair of Confederation of Indian Industry – Young Indians),Mr. Arvind Tendon (Chair of Bangalore chapter) Ms. Krupa (Vertical Chair Yuva) for the students of  Adarsha Institute of Management Bengaluru

  .Mrs.Ranjini Shankar and Mr.Marulappa LN were the key resource people.

  Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS began the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision. She addressed the audience by asking a few questions on organ donation and elucidated the need and importance of organ donation and engaged the audience with a presentation

  The following were discussed thoroughly:

  • The concept of Organ donation and Transplantation,
  •  The types of death i.e., cardiac death and brain death,
  • Brain death and the procedure of deceased organ donation and live organ donation.
  • The procedure of skin and bone donation  
  •  Barriers of organ donation ,
  • Common myths and facts related to organ donation and how it impacts on organ donation.
  • Concept of green corridor
  • The role of Jeevasarthakathe
  • Role of MOHAN Foundation in Organ donation

   She also highlighted the successful hand transplant done for Shreya Siddana Gowda and played her video which touched the hearts of the audience. The audience were highly motivated towards the cause and extended their support for the same and pledged to donate their organs. For a greater understanding, Nayana V elaborated the procedure of eye donation in detail.
