Karthikeyan Trust, Kodungaiyur chooses Organ Donation on Remembrance Day

  • On 22nd December, 2013, Karthikeyan Trust, Kodungaiyur, Chennai invited Cadaver Transplant Programme (CTP) to set an Information Stall on Organ Donation at MA Mahal, Kodungaiyur in remembrance of ‘Mr. Karthikeyan’ who had passed away few years ago. The organizer Mr. Srinivasan told that they have been conducting different awareness programmes on this occasion. This year they wanted to promote organ donation. So through CTP, Mr. Prakash K. Transplant Coordinators MOHAN Foundation, Chennai displayed a stall in the program.

     

    The Transplant Coordinator explained the following topics to those who visited the stall:

    • Activities of MOHAN Foundation across the country to strengthen the Deceased Organ Donation programme
    • Types of Organ Donation - Live and Deceased Donation
    • Importance of the consent from the family
    • Difference between Brain death, Coma and Natural Death
    • Importance of  Donor card

     

    Most of the people visited the stall, asked several questions and all the queries were answered. Totally 37 people picked donor cards and supported for the cause by pledging donor cards.
