Interaction session for College Students on Organ Donation

  The Leo Club Members taking Oaths at the Programme

  On 28^th December 2014, Leo Club of Chennai Royal Elite, Chennai conducted an awareness programme for their Leo Day Celebration and Mr. Basker invited MOHAN Foundation Team to give an awareness talk on Organ Donation.

  The programme began with a welcome address by Mr.Basker, the president; he explained the importance of event and mentioned that every year they are conducting the event as part of motivation. So they wanted to promote the noble cause and Mr. Prakash K.Transplant Coordinators, MOHAN Foundation facilitated and spoke about the Concepts of Organ Donation.

  The following topics were covered in the presentation:

  • Activities of MOHAN Foundation across the country to strengthen the Deceased Organ Donation programme
  • Types of Organ Donation - Live and Deceased Donation
  • Difference between Brain death and Coma
  • Importance of the consent from the family
  • Importance of Donor card 
  • Tissues and organs  that can be donated
  • Transplant Coordinators Training Programme
  • Helpline Number

   Totally 100 Leo club members participated in the session and 40 of them picked up donor card. At the end of the programme Mr. Basker gave a vote of thanks.
