Commemorating World Elders Day (which falls on 1st October), AMM Matriculation School in Chennai organized a Family Walkathon and Cyclothon for the families of the students on 28th September 2019. The following five different causes were the central themes of the rally:
Children, their teachers, parents and grandparents participated in the rally which started off around 6 AM, holding placards bearing slogans supporting the above causes. The group returned to the school premises at 7:15 AM and was provided refreshments.
MOHAN Foundation had set up an information desk, manned by Ms. Ishwarya, to answer queries and accept pledges of parents and grandparents. There were also stalls for Eye Donation by Sankara Nethralaya and Health Screening (Sugar, BP, Eyes) by Apollo Hospitals.
MOHAN Foundation’s stall which was decked up with a banner and a standee, also had information brochures and donor cards. Around 12 people including parents and teachers of AMM School visited the Foundation’s stall and registered as organ donors.
