Information Desk on Organ Donation set up at Government Medical College, Nagpur

  • On 12th October 2019, Dr. Naresh Tiripude, HOD of the Anesthesia Department of Government Medical College, Nagpur invited MOHAN Foundation to speak  about organ donation to the outpatients and their relatives.

    A stall with information brochures, donor cards, standees and banners was put up and Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur managed the stall.

    The following information was given to the stall visitors:

    • Types of death
    • Tissue and organ donation in case of natural death and brain death
    • Living donation
    • Activities of MOHAN Foundation
    • Using the Helpline number and website as means to get more information on the subject

    Around 25 patients and relatives visited stall. After gathering enough information about organ donation, 15 people took consent form, 5 patients and relatives signed consent forms and picked up donor cards.

    Question asked by visitors included:

    • How much would a kidney transplant cost?
    • What is green corridor
    • What is the age limit for organ donation?
